As we have already advanced on occasion, since 2018 we have been operating in Mexico, specifically in Mexico City and with Jorge Olmedillo as director. Today, we have a team focused mainly on the areas of Internationalisation and Recruitment & HeadHunting.
When we talk about internationalisation services in this country, we mean that we have helped numerous companies. Some of them were looking to develop their company commercially for the first time, while others had been in the country for years with subsidiaries already established with their own sales staff or multi-portfolio agents. In other cases, we have helped companies that already had a logistics centre.
Mexico is a country that facilitates foreign investment. Spain is currently the country with the second largest investment after the USA and ahead of countries such as Germany, France, Japan and the United Kingdom. In this sense, there are sectors that stand out for their great potential opportunities. Here we explain why:
Industrial sector
The industrial sector in Mexico has developed significantly in recent decades. It is one of the main economic engines of the country and represents around 25% of GDP. Mexico has a wide variety of industries, from automotive and machinery to food and textile. In addition, the country is a major exporter of manufactured goods to the United States and other countries. However, the industrial sector in Mexico also faces challenges, such as global competition and a lack of investment in technology and training, which represents a great opportunity for companies in this sector to open a market in this country. Despite this, the country has a young and well-qualified workforce, and the sector is expected to continue to grow in the near future.
Agricultural sector
The agricultural sector is also one of the most important and fastest growing sectors in this country, mainly due to the population increase that will take place between now and 2050. Mexico currently has a population of 125 million people, which will increase to 146 million by 2050. In this sense, Mexico represents a great opportunity for companies related to the agricultural sector, such as, for example, chemical industries, agricultural engineering, agricultural machinery manufacturing, etc...
Construction sector
Last but not least, we highlight the construction sector as it is another of the activities with the greatest potential to underpin economic growth in Mexico. This is due to the tendency to reactivate infrastructure projects, something that poses a very favourable scenario for it. In addition, this country follows the strategy of sustainability and is investing in the construction and renovation of buildings that comply with this trend.
Our colleagues at ieTeam Mexico assure us that it is a key destination for both foreign direct investment and foreign trade, so the possibilities are always there.
