DEUSTOTECH, the Research Institute of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto, is looking for a R&D Proposals and Project Management lead in the Industry, to join its R&D Project Management team. The candidate will join DeustoTech, the Research Institute of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto, initially within the Project Technical Unit to support research teams aligned with the Industrial area, as a potential leader in the implementation and management of large-scale research projects in the field of ICT. The ideal candidate will hold a postgraduate degree (PhD) in technical disciplines (Industrial, Materials or Computer Science Engineering, Physics, Chemistry bachelor background) with proven experience of over 4 years in fundraising and leading research and development projects in the field of Smart Industry; researchers who have developed their careers around the management of R&D projects or innovation actions in regional, national, and European research programs. What will be your main responsibilities? • Identify and evaluate new R&D funding opportunities at regional, national, and international levels according to the institute's criteria. • Develop solid and competitive project proposals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. • Manage the complete cycle of R&D projects, from planning and execution to reporting and result evaluation. • Stay abreast of the regional, national, and European research ecosystem, identifying trends, opportunities, and potential collaborators. • Collaborate with other areas of the University of Deusto to ensure the strategic alignment of R&D projects with organizational objectives. What competencies do we require form you? At a technical level, we require… • PhD in Technical disciplines (Industrial, Materials or Computer Science engineering, Physical Sciences, Chemistry background). • Demonstrable experience of over 4 years in proposing and managing competitive or concerted R&D projects. • In-depth knowledge of the regional, national, and European research ecosystem. • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. • Interest in technology transfer, based on applied research work carried out.
